car stereo wars Vs. DJ Car Stereo (Wars)

January 31st, 2010 | By

There has been some confusion over the band and the DJ, we are the band “car stereo wars” from Australia, and the DJ is “DJ Car Stereo (Wars)” who does mash-ups (potatoes and things I think). We recently obtained the myspace page http://www.myspace.com/carstereowars which should hopefully clear things up a little bit.  Our myspace is on the verge of reaching 50,000 plays, come on, lets get to 1 billion!

December 2nd, 2009 | By

conciergecar stereo wars have been interviewed by The Concierge Questionnaire. The Concierge Questionnaire is a hip, informative and fun travel magazine, dedicated to providing “valuable answers from those who know.”

From The Conceirge Website… “Car Stereo Wars, an eclectically, hip indie pop/rock band with roots in trip-hop and electronica, are busy making an international name for themselves in cosmopolitan Melbourne, Australia. Read Jason White’s, Bassist, Q & check out “Radio Edit” VIDEO!” Read the full interview here…

In the email from them they said “Our staff is just crazy about “Radio Edit”…  can’t stop humming it!”  Thanks!

car stereo wars get all deadwoody

November 26th, 2009 | By

car stereo wars are locked down in deadwood… Well okay it’s not Deadwood. Its Steiglitz. A Victorian ghost town that experienced a similar gold rush in the 1850’s. The wazzas as they are sometimes known are busy writing and recording material for their 2nd album.
There are still a few surviving buildings in the town but most have no power. Fortunately with a generator or two and the power of mac laptops we have the potential to record to our hearts content. (or our batteries run out…)
Strangely the songs seem to be taking on a country/dixie feel. Please take note of the photo from our last shindig at Steiglitz.
Stay tuned for more tales from the ghost town of Steiglitz. We are making a little documentary as we go. It will find its way to the website soon.

robot love – dell commercial

November 26th, 2009 | By

“come to nothing” by car stereo wars is the music accompanying the lovely robot love commercial by dell – notice the missing lyric? This is a cool commerical, it’s got everything, robots, lasers, computers, sweet sounds. What more can you ask for?
